The cube project debuted its “Hexagon” at the 2008 Bioneers Conference in San Rafael, California. Working in collaboration with the program’s Youth Unity Tent, cube directors Kevin Buckland and Pablo Caballero provided this 3-D interactive sculpture in which participants were asked to visualize the world they wished to see in the future. “We are going to paint on this canvas, what we are going to do out in the world,” said Buckland.

The dynamic drawings include such elements as off-shore wind farms, sustainable agriculture, rooftop gardens and hot-air balloons. The piece also included an “internal” view of the future, depicting the internal changes that will occur inside people when we arrive at a unified and sustainable planet. This image, clearly depicting the body’s chakras, has a powerful spirituality to it, and a inspiring depiction of the future of our species.

With more than 250 diverse people participating in the painting of this Hexagon.  It provided a much needed outlet for people to visually respond to the compelling information they were constantly absorbing, and to participate in the excitement of the conference.
