In the early spring of 2009, ClimateChangesArt joined the Commonvision Fruit Tree Tour. Traveling in the world’s largest fleet of waste vegetable-oil powered vehicles, Commonvision spends each winter traveling throughout California, planting fruit trees and engaging school kids of all ages in environmental education and creative expression. Through puppetry, drawing exercises, drumming and rhyming, students are encouraged to creatively respond to environmental issues – all conveyed through the metaphor of the fruit trees the children themselves then plant.

ClimateChangesArt joined the Fruit Tree Tour with the CO2 Cube Project painting cubes at Aerohaven Elementary School, Soil Born Farms, the San Francisco Permaculture Guild, and Amma’s Ashram. Commonvision volunteers also teamed up to paint a cube of their own. The painting was so inspired, it went beyond the Cubes, and ClimateChangesArt ended up facilitating 2 permanent murals. One for an elementary school and one for a Boys and Girls Club.
