ClimateChangesArt coordinated the arts events for this years Summit Greenfest, held annually in Summit, New Jersey and sponsored by SummitGreen.  Returning to their home state, ClimateChangesArt brought with them 6 vibrantly painted cubes, adding color and quiet education about CO2 emissions to the already buzzing event. One of the cubes was participatory, and so artists young and old gathered round to add to their town’s collective mural.

In addition to this, ClimateChangesArt teamed with Penelope Hillfrau to create a large paper-mache mask that people were invited to paint upon. With the globe painted on her face, this mask represented our ailing planet and people were encouraged to paint “helping hands” to “give the earth a hand”. An arts booth and 250 painted cardboard hands later, we were ready for a parade! We attached the helping hands to our earth puppet, grabbed some instruments made from recycled materials, and set off around the event. It was a hit! And a great way to get people excited about some creative artistic expression, and recycling!
